Opening Old Sealed Games

This isn't even a Nerd World Problems article. This is just me angry about something.

Why I Own 14 Copies of Dragon Warrior (And Counting)

Have you ever loved a thing so much you bought it every time you came across it? Probably not. That doesn't seem to be a very common thing that normal people do. Well, I own 14 copies of Dragon Warrior and counting, and by my own admission, that's not a normal thing to do. Maybe we should talk a bit about that today.

Replacement Sega CD Cases

There's a common problem with Sega CD, Sega Saturn, and original long box PlayStation games: The cases are extremely fragile. Today I received some new cases in the mail to replace some of my more damaged ones, and I want to share with you my experience with them.

How I Got Into Collecting Video Games

In the past I have gone into detail about my origins with video games, so this article isn't about that. Instead, this article is about how I got into collecting video games and what the climate was like at the time I started. Maybe it'll be mildly interesting to look back on it. Let's find out!

Toys "R" Us: The Final Week Cutting Room Floor

So a while back I posted an article about the final week at Toys "R" Us. In it I had several pictures I had taken throughout the course of the week. Now that some time has passed, I thought I would post the pictures I took but didn't use for the article.

My Page Throughout the Years

So I'm getting a new computer. That's not something I often do. After all, I'm still running Windows XP over here. Really. I've been backing up files in preparation for the move to a new machine, and in doing so I have uncovered some interesting things from other times when I backed up my computer.

amiibo Fever: Catch it

I don't know how it happened. I didn't mean to start buying amiibos. I really didn't.

I have been against Skylanders from their inception, and Disney Infinity didn't get my attention, either. Even when they added Marvel and Star Wars to the mix. amiibos were at least interesting to me because I could get little nice looking figurines of characters I might not otherwise have a figure of.

San Antonio's Most Overpriced Retro Game Store

Recently I went on vacation to San Antonio Texas to visit with my fiancée's family. While there, one of the things I wanted to do was check out any retro game stores that might be there, as there really aren't any close to where I live. Google found me two stores and I was really excited to go. One was decent, the other inspired me to write this.

The saying goes that everything is bigger in Texas. At this store, they took that literally with their prices.

My Minecraft Wishlist

Minecraft is something that I have devoted an alarming amount of time to. Since I started playing it, I have sank countless hours into it. Sometimes I run out of ideas of things to make, but I always get my groove back and find myself in the zone again. But Minecraft isn't perfect, and there are some things I would like to see put into the game.

Kids and Games, Games and Kids

Today I'm going to ramble on a bit about something I have been noticing a lot lately. This is kind of an aimless commentary, and I don't know exactly where I'm going with it, so I'm just going to start talking. Hold on to your butts!

High Values Making Me Consider Selling Some Games

The other day, something happened that I thought never would. I was browsing the values of games on several game consoles on Price Charting and it blew my mind how much some of the games I have are going for. I began to ponder the previously unthinkable: How much money could I get if I sold some of my games?

Gaming Milestones

The other day I hit one of my gaming milestones; I acquired my 4,000th video game. Sometimes I think what would my previous self had thought if I knew how many games I would end up owning. Today I'm going to briefly go over this milestone and why it's a big deal to me.

My Experience Collecting the PlayStation Vita

The past year for me has been all about the PlayStation Vita. That's probably a weird sentence for people to read considering... well, it's the PlayStation Vita. Who cares about the Vita? Well, this guy does! I completely understand why people would not be on board with this little system, but read on to find out a bit about what I found when I dove into it a bit more.

Video Game Box Protectors

Real quick, I want to talk a bit about this great little site that I just ordered from.  It's called Video Game Box Protectors, and they sell exactly what their name suggests.  This site sells plastic cases that you can put your games in, whether they're cart only or in their original boxes.
